What are you going to experience? Let's go on:
start: Kasane
1. Caprivi Region safari (along the Okavango river which feeds the Okawango Delta)
2. through the city of Rundu to the north - the natives who cultivate their livelihood in prehistoric ways
3. San people - towards the town of Grootfontein. In front of it is a turn to the left to San (a very old civilization, they walk almost naked)
- building a bird trap and hunting a bird (older Sans use to have only one eye left, because they built that bird trap wrongly)
- have their own special smacking language
- illiterates, can count up to four only
- production of bows and other classical weapons
- hunting with a classically made bow
- demonstration, explanation of medical animals, plants, insects
- use of insects for eating and poison production
- production of local jewelry
- demonstrations of their dances and spells
- introduction to the traditions and way of life of this nation (they do not educate in schools, etc.)
4. Grootfontein
- the most beautiful city of Namibia
- trip to dinosaur footprints (in stone)
- trip to the Hoba meteorite (strange and unexplained mutations of plants and animals grow in its surroundings)
- cheetah trip, hunting cheetah trip (the cheetah is the one who hunts, not you)
- in some periods (out of season) there is water spraying from the ground
5. Etosha National Park
- we will turn through Tsumep to the most beautiful safari park in Namibia (top ten in the world)
- you can camp there
- at each campsite there is a huge illuminated waterhole - you will see rhinos, porcupines, various nocturnal animals
- salt pans and other things
6. Outapi (going north)
- the largest baobabs in the world - they serve as a post office inside them, a church and many other buildings as well
7. Opuwo (going south)
- you can see the famous tribes of Himba (ocher drawing on their bodies), Herrero, and Demba (naked, pitch black)
- burial ceremonies (people lying there on each other)
- cattle posts
- cooking
- indigenous people constructions (clay igloo)
8. Four attractions
- petrified forest from the time of dinosaurs
- Sans - presentation event
- Twyfelfontein - the oldest stone paintings in the world (the only UNESCO monument in Namibia)
- organ pipes - rock formations resembling a huge organ
- the only volcano of Namibia - Brukkaros Mountain
9. Brandberg - ascent to the highest mountain of Namibia
10. Skeleton coasts
- you will undertake a very difficult off-road route to the very north of the Skeleton Coast - Mowe Bay.
- there is also a small museum of a famous whale.
- along the way you will experience a huge cold due to the icy Benguel current - you'll see the ship wrecks that have succumbed to this current and got wrecked, sometimes there are huge ice floes, together with bones of whales and seals
- millions of seals grouped in colonies, along the way
- sand dunes (smaller ones here - 100 to 150m in height)
11. Cape Cross - the largest colony of seals in the world
12. Swakopmund
- it is called The adrenalin capital of the world.
- there you will enjoy the Little five safari - desert creatures (lizards, snakes, spiders) which live in one of the most inhospitable places on the world
- adrenaline action - quad dune riding
- moon landscape
- famous welwitschia plant - on of the longest living plants in the world (lives up to 3.000 years), oldest welwitschia in the world
13. Walvis Bay - Sandwich Harbor trip
- first you are travelling by boat - the seals, pelicans and other water monsters board that boat, too
- you will visit oyster farms
- then, by a special hand-made quad you will ride the dunes
- will have lunch or dinner by white table (seems like wedding)
- will drink champagne and eat delicious namibian oysters
- for the courageous - ride the huge (150m high) dune on quad or by foot, down to the lagoon
- great views of Sandwich Harbor (many viewpoints, vith views both upwards and downwards, e.g. downwards you can see flamingos and other water birds on the lagoon)
On the way back from the Sandwich Harbor:
- salt mines (active)
- muds (moving sands alike) - it looks like sand but it behaves like a gelatin
14. Sossusvlei
- indicates the whole site and, in a narrower sense, the most famous place there
- climb Dune 45 for sunrise view
- climb Big Daddy (400m) - the highest sand dune of the world
- Deadvlei
- Hiddenvlei
- very old trees
15. Luderits
- ghosts towns (cities covered with sand)
- penguins colony
- Sperrgebiet - diamond areas (diamond fields)
- Fish River Canyon - greater than Grand Canyon
16. go to Vinhoek
- by road: cross Tropic of Capricorn (make a photo)
- you will see a lot of ostriches and baboons along the way
- Vinhoek: you’ll see an extraordinary church
- Gibeon Meteorite Shower - the largest remaining meteor shower in the world
- Eternal City of Katutura - 400,000 refugees
- then return to Kasane
